The role: People Advisory officer

Location: Perth

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 5 months

Pay: $58.99 + super

Hours: Full time with hybrid model

About the role:

In this position, you will provide high‑quality support and advice across People Advisory and Employment Relations matters. You’ll respond to a wide range of queries, support case management and investigations, and help ensure the consistent application of our enterprise agreement, policies, and employment conditions..

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and consistent advice on employment conditions, policies, and processes.
  • Interpret Enterprise Agreement and relevant policies across parental leave, flexible working, benefits, allowances, study assistance, and civil/trade frameworks.
  • Respond to employee and leader queries via the Advice Line and ER inbox.
  • Support the team with complex queries, fact‑finding, and case management.
  • Assist with employment contracts for employees and leaders.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks, invoicing, and purchase orders for the team.

People Movements

  • Act as the first point of contact for S344 application queries.
  • Support People Advisory in managing internal people movements in line with policies.
  • Prepare monthly and ad‑hoc reporting on people data.

Case management:

  • Assist with workplace investigations in line with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate traffic infringement breach processes.
  • Attend meetings and take case notes where required.

Stakeholder engagement:

  • Liaise with union organisers to coordinate Right of Entry requests and maintain associated documentation.
  • Support the Team Lead with Joint Consultative Committee materials, logistics, minutes, and action tracking.
  • Assist with enterprise bargaining activities, including organising meetings and minute‑taking.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Strong knowledge of contemporary HR and ER practices
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to build relationships with employees, leaders, unions, and HR stakeholders
  • Sound judgement, multi‑tasking ability, and skill in prioritising work
  • Competence in IT systems and willingness to learn new applications
  • Team‑oriented mindset with strong professionalism and confidentiality

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field, and
  • Demonstrated understanding of HR/ER processes including interpreting enterprise agreements, legislation, employment conditions, awards, and policies
  • Significant experience in HR and employee relations providing advice on the above areas.
